Malaysia, Sarawak, 14th June 2019 - Nokia plans to partner up with the Sarawak government and Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) to further explore in State Digital Economy collaboration programs with objective to enhance state economic growth through digital transformation and local talents.
The Right Honourable Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg said the development of digital economy was the main driving force of Sarawak’s future economic development. As high-speed broadband and digital connectivity is the foundation of a digital economy, it is the focus of the Sarawak state government to provide our people with a fixed or wireless high-speed broadband infrastructure. This is to improve the lives of our people and the level of economic development. We hope more multi-national companies will participate in ICT areas and not limiting to 5G/4G technologies, smart & safe city solution, education, IOT in agriculture, to strengthen public safety, social communication network, traffic management control and other key initiatives to promote local economic development”.
With Nokia strategic and innovation digital initiatives in ICT domain, Sarawak will be powered by the latest and innovative digital technology to facilitate the development of the communication, multimedia and accelerating the state's digital economy growth.
